Why is my ... SSD slow?
I have a Samsung SSD in my laptop (Core i7 820, 4GB DDR3 RAM, ATI 4670), but I can hardly tell the difference between a regular HDD and a SSD. I went to Sam's Club to try out some of their laptops and velocities with a HDD and got about 30 seconds to boot Windows while Mine gets about 25 seconds, compare, no one in their right mind would pay $ 400 just to start Windows 5 seconds faster! Most applications open almost instantly, but the few laptops I tried (all of which had i3/i5 Core) can open the application almost at the same time, the only advantage I had was Windows Media Center. I Call of Duty MW2 usually loaded before the dialog starts (max settings) but I have not been able to compare loading times for Call of Duty, or other intensive application. I have Intel Matrix Storage Manager, which seemed a bit, but nothing seems to help justify a $ 400 asking price. Windows 7.1 on my drive prices in the Index Score.
SSDs slow down over time, this is a known effect. You can also unnecsissary many programs that start with your PC, while the store on the laptop has a vanilla Windows 7.
