Best laptop for amateur astronomer / writer?
I'm an armature astronomer looking for a new laptop. Astronomy magazine recommends SSDs for astronomy software (Deepsky, etc), but I'm not sure if the price of a previously installed the SSD is worth the shortcomings are not. That said, I also have a portable laptop for word processing, internet, school and the occasional mid-game graphics: Windows XP, Ubuntu or Apple platforms (no Vista !!!:) + 120 Gig Hard Drive 7200 RPM 2.0Gig + 2.0G RAM Intel 2 Duo processor Nvidia dedicated graphics card at this moment I am looking at custom Sony Vaio and Macbook. Other suggestions?
