Why cannot we talk with the Baltimore paymnt Center for Social secrity?
every time I contact the 800 number or the local office in relation to my ssd refundable payment that has been through (i was adopted in August of 07 .... im told its processed / handled at the payment center and all they can do is a note for them in their system, but we can not address them directly. Im wondering why and why is it taking so long to get your back pay? im getting very frustrated because it has been a long struggle to get approved 5yr, even tho im obviously disabled and my lawyer was paid soon after my approval immediately ....... why cannot i talk to Baltimore ssd and darn see where my money is, or at least when it'd be paid ... I would have thought id get now and just keep waiting. thanks
Well, I used to for SSA to work back in the '90s, and back then the answer would have been, because the people at the payment centers are highly specialized clerical jobs, and not trained to speak to the public. SSA field offices working in the United States and many other locations, and are staffed by people who would be glad to help. You may not will be able to do much to speed up the process, though. The system is free and automated controls printed 24 / 7. If you are in the queue you a check as soon as possible. Of course, as I said, this information is about 10 years old, so things have changed since then. Good luck!
