Solid State Drive v. Big HD?
I have a black MacBook and the hard disk is empty of the store, because I many videos and photos. I'm the purchase of a Macbook Pro and want a hard drive that will store everything. I noticed that Mac offers a Solid State Drive. As usual I will be 320GB HD @ 7400 RPM. The 256GB SSD would be (which is the largest they offer). Should I go with the regular HD or SSD? The price difference is no problem, I just want what's best for me to work and not feel I know that the right of SSD to make the right choice. Thanks in advance!-Jake
SSD technology has not matured yet. They get slower as they fill. They are still faster than the HDD, but they are not all they're cracked up to be. Also because you already have the problem of the exploitation of the area had a large hard drive you need. A third option is to obtain a smallish SSD for the OS and programs, and getting a big hard drive installed for storing your bulk (videos, etc.). As you speed and capacity.
