Would an SSD more often (ie disk curruption) more often than normal hard drives?
This is because I want to know if it would be appropriate to put an OS on one. And maybe some tips for the life of one?
Carputer Many people who go this route because all motion and a shock mounted hard disk continues to in a moving vehicle. The latest laptops are using the same setup as well. It is actually a high capacity SD card. The limitations of this being a finite quantity time the SD card can be written. Not sure if the new SSD laptops in this problem or not. There is no moving parts, so a part of the corruption of the disk is removed. Windows is always susceptible to corruption, no matter what it is installed. So I would say that it is reduced, but not 100% removed. To aide in your situation there is an SD - IDE Controller not only this. Or would you more expensive route and get the latest SSD. Drives start at about $ 450 for a $ 80-GB model.
