My Thoughts on the yet to be released Asus Eee PC Keyboard
Let us first start with the specs, it is a computer built into a full QWERTY keyboard, and Ultra Wide Band HDMI and WiFi b / g / n, it also has a 5-inch touchscreen for shortcuts, browsing and using media as a virtual mouse.
Hardware wise the Eee PC keyboard has a property Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1 GB memory and a 16GB or 32GB SSD storage, I read that it might lower model released, I am uncertain about the differences between the models as of yet, I think we will have to wait until Asus EEE Actually release of their desktop PC before we know for sure.
From what I've seen and read, using the built-in 5 "touchscreen gives you access to a menu where you can access to calendar, gallery, media player and an Internet browser, there are simple usability apps, such as a calculator, alarm clock and system info.
On the back of the all-in-one "PC-in-a-keyboard" you will find at least two USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, wired Ethernet and audio in / out (with an integrated microphone and speakers).
Now I am quite impressed with what I've read and what I have seen so far, but there is a thing that my brains are 100 kilometer per hour, I'm not sure if ASUS have decided a specific OS they plan to release the PC keyboard, but there are videos and demos you can find on youtube that shows running with Windows XP and a different tone with the Asus Eee PC Netbook keyboard with Intel's Moblin OS, this is the configuration I prefer, I can not really complain that much about Windows XP, however, such a device should really be using its own custom version of Linux or a cut version of Linux, which in my opinion, a sensible choice.
But I do not work for ASUS, I also get a voice in what OS they will install on their Eee PC keyboard, so we will have wait until the release of two Asus Eee PC keyboard, or atleast release another statement on the release of the product.
I'm a little frustrated with peoples I've seen comments around the Eee PC keyboard, I've notices is important that people say things similar to "Commodore International did so in the years eighty PCs in keyboards are not new ASUS just found a way to "reinvent" the idea .. Whats Next? ASUS are going to re - Inventing the "Floppy disk?".
I understand where these comments come from, yes Commodore International has introduced a computer that was built in 1982 in the keyboard, and it was fairly successful (I think more than 30 million sales), but you can not compare this with the Asus Eee PC keyboard in any way shape or form, im sorry but you just can not compare a 1.8kg Cream nasty box that was more than 40cm wide 20cm long and 8cm high's (not to mention the 1MHz processor and 64K of RAM) to a fine sleek looking keyboard is not too "out there" or "great" and comes with a 1.6Ghz Atom processor, 1GB Ram and all other functions.
I for one can not wait to get my hands on one of these babies will surely come in hand around the home and office, I would also look at these roles to my staff as well as they always seem to run the office space due to the oversized desktop PCs currently use them.
Read the original Article & much more on my ASUS EEE PC Keyboard Site.
When the Asus Eee PC keyboard is that I will be free purchasing a straight path, so I can complete my readers a good review of the product.
