How chemically RAM memory sticks and flash memory chips SSD destroy beyond repair?
Which substance would dissolve / destroy a RAM / flash memory chip within a few seconds of contact? I want a platform where all computer memory chips would be chemically destroyed (as soon as possible) - as a data security measure. This happens automatically in a metal box. The trigger is mechanically in the case of a power failure at the time when this should happen. I considered other options, but they require All electricity or big springs (crush). I'm pouring chemicals in the field would be simpler. All ideas are welcome
Unless you have some very special RAM / Flash memory, is made of doped silicon. HCl not touch that. HF [anhydrous] will, but anhydrous HF is extremely unpleasant things, you would better get cooking concentrated sulfuric acid on you than RT anhydrous HF. However, both the heat of red hot chips [use of a thermite charge] or them in a very strong electrical field will bollix it very well. Magnetic fields, static Ones, do not touch. Crushing them can not, because the actual chip is very small and you would not really damage, but the plastic carrier.
