SSD into a Macbook after i buy it?
OK, My PC crashed about 3 weeks ago. Couldn't get it fixed, no problem there. My Q's is. I'm 'bout to buy a Macbook Pro. I finally am able to get a "over the top" laptop. The problem I'm facing at the moment is; When I Configure the Macbook at apple.com there is an option of having a 256GB SSD installed, but i don't think that's enough memory, I just found a 512GB SSD. What I would like to know is- IF I instead of getting the SSD from apple I just add the 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm Will It be possible to swap the HD for the SSD later or is there more to it than just switching a HD for a SSD?
It is actually cheaper to do the upgrades yourself. Apple overcharges for upgrades. You can switch the hard drive easily, as well as the ram. You are stuck with the processor though.
BTW, macs are a great investment. They last on average twice as long as windows notebooks.
