Does a SATA 2 drive work in a SATA connection?
I have a laptop that has a SATA hd. I want to plug in a SSD, but all I find are SATA 2 SSD. The plugs look the same, are SATA 2 SSDs backwards compatible? Will the SATA 2 SSD work in on my SATA laptop? Or do I have to find a SATA 1 SSD?
it will work, but you will be wasting a bit of money because you wont be able to get the full performance of your solid state drive with a sata1 bandwidth
