Can a hard disk be replaced by a Solid State Drive?
I buy a ThinkPad and I can not make up my mind about whether to buy a Hard Disk Drive or Solid State Drive. The Solid State Drive is much more convenient, but much more expensive and newer, more sophisticated Solid State Drives are very likely to appear in the near future with much more capacity. Can I buy a notebook hard drive and replace it with an SSD with a higher capacity when one appears on the market?
Personal HDD should I buy and hold. Solid-state drives on the market later, and I would wait until one years or two for them to weed out any problems. Moment, HDD drives are ubiquitous. They read and write faster, and are generally the best current choice. Solid-state drives are, as you said, expensive. However, they have no moving parts, so they do not break. However, they cost more per gigabyte. So if I were you, I would stay with HDD. However, if you really wanted a solid-state drive, I would just buy the HDD now. If there is a newer solid state drive comes, chances are that it fits into the slot of your hard drive once did, so you can buy and swap it out.
