Is MLC (multi-level cell) limit of 10,000 writes on SSD's a problem in everyday computing on laptops?
I wonder whether this is a topic I should consider whether or I would buy a SSD for my laptop.
I think it is still a problem if you swap files. Though have their relative "life" per cell, there are algorithms that replace bad cells as they happen, built in SSD. But that said, if enough cells go bad, even the parts get used up. Much depends on how the SSD is used, and how writing can occur. I considered them yourself, but for now I feel them still early in the technology curve to them for my precious files.
