How do I create an external RAID configuration?
Hi I have a MSI 1651 laptop and I want a RAID configuration to make it cheap because SSDs are expensive. I have an eSATA port, but can not find a cheap hub to support about 4 SATA HDD's. I thought maybe I need an adapter for my Express Card slot with 54 Support for RAID w / 2 eSATA ports and receives 2 2x SATA to eSATA adapters. Any thoughts?
You're on the right track. For a RAID you a sort of daughter board for the stations to connect. You can not just one eSATA hub and plug them in, unless the mother board on your laptop in that supports RAID configuration.
