I want the HP Mini is the 16gb ssd vs 160GB hard drive in the Asus Eee. HP has perhaps the best netbook keyboard category, but 16gb? id to have an external drive to meet. My argument is that if its portable, The SSD is the safer bet with less moving parts. im leaning towards the mini, but not crazy about memory.

I have the mini to the 16GB SSD. It comes with a 2GB module and plug in that sits in a small indented proprietary USB slot on the device ... So you have a total of 18 gb plus any external USB drives, etc. I like the ssd as the is quicker to start, uses tons of power and extends battery life considerably. I think the keyboard and the overall feel of the device. Some things to remember: (1) webcam SUCKS. if you want to webcam, look elsewhere. (2), although it looks like the ship with bluetooth (because HP loads the BT driver on all machines by default and displays an icon in the systray), the base model GT NO. if that is important to you, you need a larger model that specifically states that it includes BT. I (and many others) have complained about both of these HP items and only HP has said virtually nothing. I love the speed and portability of the device. With the SSD, can I leave the thing on sleep mode for the entire day and still 50% or better battery at the end of the day. You can always get a small 100 + gig external portable drive if you need more space.
