What RPM is the equivalent of a 128 GB Solid State Drive (SSD)?
I want to know how fast a 128GB SSD. Or one that is also typically faster RAM? I know that SSD's do not spin, but I just want to know the speed.
A top of the line 10000 rpm drive has a sustained read rate of 115MB / s average. An entry level SSD 100MB / s. A top of the line consumer SSD has a 275MB / s read speed. That is just the read performance. SSDs have several advantages over other satellite-based HDDs. These include drop resistance, lower electric bills, faster access to data, and a few other things that eludes me atm.
